It was with a heavy heart that I read today of the death of David's father. The entire Deluise family will sorely miss such a bright light, and so will we all.
I had the distinct priviledge of being an attendee at SG Vancouver convention in '07, and the even further priviledge of being the fan who teased David into taking his shirt off for charity during the Q & A. It was a gesture on David's part that would have been applauded by his father, I am sure.
I know that Dom's humour and humanity will continue to live through his family and close friends, and we will be able to relive that through Dom's work.

I was so sad to see this on the news yesterday. I haven't meet any of the family but when you grow up watching Cannonball Run and all the funny skits you feel like they are family.
I hope the good Lord holds the family in his arms as long as they need him.
My prayers and condolences go to you all. Just know, he will greatly be missed.
Love from Bristol, Tennessee

I had the privilege of meeting David two years ago over brunch at the Vancouver Stargate convention. Over a piece of pie, I asked him about his dad, and he must have talked for fifteen minutes about his restaurant, the food, and how much he loved him. You could just see the radiant smile on his face as he talked about the joy his dad brought him.
What a gift Dom was, for all of us. Through his love of life and humor, I learned a lot about myself, and have always thought much of my own journey to self acceptance came from Dom's example. Meeting David only proved that to me.
Mike, Peter and David, you and yours are on my heart, and tonight I will tip a nice glass of Chianti and cook my favorite pasta salad in his honor. Cheers and love heading your way!

I was shocked and saddened today at the news that Dom DeLuise had died. The first thought that came to mind was David who I had the great pleasure of working with a couple years ago in Florida. One of the last conversations we had was at the wrap party just days before Thanksgiving and David and David Faustino were talking about their plans for the holiday. David DeLuise was telling us about the traditional Thanksgiving feast Dom prepared causing us to salivate with every description, making me jealous and David Faustino accepting the invitation to join the DeLuise family. I know the pain because I lost my father in March 1998 and then my mother February 17, 2008. When parents get older you know it is inevitable but that doesn't make it any easier when it happens. Dom brought a great deal of joy to the hearts of millions throughout his career and he will be missed. So tonight I will raise my glass in celebration of his life and his legacy he leaves behind and pray that the DeLuise family can find some comfort in remembering the time they shared with him and knowing he will always be with them. And for his sons, remember all the times he yelled your names when you messed up because throughout the next couple years, even if you haven't done anything you will swear you hear him yelling your name and that's because he loved you and he will always be there to remind you.
